Wordwide Contacts from the Car

From 1980 to 2003 i was active only on 2m and 70cm, from Home and from the Car.
In the Year 2003 i got the Permit to transmit on Shortwave, using the Amateur-Radio-Bands from 10m to 160m.

Until now, i worked 147 DXCC-Countries from my Car.

In the beginning i use a KENWOOD TS-50S with 100 Watts Output. Later i bought a ICOM IC-706 MKIIG (70cm - 160m). The Antenna is made in Australia and called Outbacker-Perth. It is only 2m short, but that was no problem to work the other Side of the World - New Zealand, when the Conditions was good and the Frequency clear.

Normally i'm active when i drive from Work to Home, mostly on 20m in SSB. When the Bands are open, i like 10m, 15m and 17m also.

Hustler Mobile-Antenna

Finally, i found a Dealer in Europe, where i could buy the well known HUSTLER Super-Resonators. I bought the Super-Resonators for 10,15,20,40 and 80m with double Bandwith and up to 1 KW Power.
The tuning was very easy using my DIAMOND Cross-Needle SWR-Meter and the Kenwood TS-50. I mount 3 of these Resonators for testing on the Hustler VP-1. I always put the Magnetic-Mount, with the 3 strong large Magnets, on a thin Baking-Mat of Silicone to protect the Car and easily remove.
